    Dear Scott,
Your book is indeed an inspiration. It has given me the itchy rash of "yes" and I think the only cure is to spread the salve of what you've created in Second Chance. I look forward to doing just that.
  • Dom, thank you. Keep up the great work your doing as well.

"WoW! Very COOL Scott. I have read your book many times over and I think it is great. What makes it great is that it is all true, and it shows people that you should never give up on life or yourself. :)"

    Dear Scott,

Your book helped me to re-focus my life. I’m 54 and could relate oh too well with your/our generational experiences. I seriously considered suicide last year. I got help from others whom I never imagined would help me. The philosophy of your book is a simple and compelling guide/template. I hope to share that energy with others, but of course I cannot help others unless I maintain my own compass. Thanks for sharing your life spirit.

    Sincerely,

    Bob Tucker

Hi Mr. Silverman. Yesterday I was thinking how to find ways to inspire my staff. I got frustrated because of the politics involved in telling people what they really are. I went home thinking that I need an idea to remind staff what is the reason we joined Social Services. Today I read the first three chapters of your book and I got really inspired and I decided I will join you in "playing this wonderful Tell me no I Dare you! game". Thanks for helping me to remain focused. I believe I am on way to find my true YES."

Scott - Your account of how you started Second Chance is truly inspiring. Your ability to not take "no" for an answer in the heart of many rejections and obstacles just blows me away. It's one thing to push after an individual goal but when pursuing a dream that requires so much collaboration from others, it can be easy to give up. What you did is mind boggling.

But the section in the book that got to me - punched me in the gut - was about the homeless guy who died while sleeping on the sidewalk next to Second Chance. Your comment, "Maybe he just gave up and quit. Maybe he believed the no he heard. At any rate, he died alone on a sidewalk," broke my heart because my own mother died on a sidewalk. She too was living from a "no." I so hope to honor her by living with a "yes." Thanks for your book.
